ETT = endotracheal tube.
(a) ETT in oesophagus, and able to aspirate air with the syringe or the bulb refills (suggesting tracheal intubation).
(b) ETT in trachea, and unable to aspirate air with the syringe, or the bulb does not refill (suggesting oesophageal
intubation).
