OxStar
The Oxford Simulation, Teaching and Research (OxSTaR) Centre is a purpose built education centre located at the John Radcliffe Hospital. The overarching aim of the Centre is to improve patient safety through excellence in training. We have a holistic approach to education with a focus on technology enhanced learning, particularly incorporating medical simulators, supported by research into educational methods. We opened our doors three years ago and since that time have trained over 2000 undergraduate and postgraduate healthcare professionals from diverse backgrounds with great success. We have won Teaching Centre of the Year from the Oxford Foundation School each year since we began and our Clinical Lecturer has won a major educator award from the University. We are continuing to expand and develop our course portfolio, and our teaching faculty, to meet the demands for training using simulation for all healthcare professionals at the Oxford University Hospitals NHS Trust and beyond.
